Big tech companies have come to dominate the internet, losing, misusing and siloing user data, distorting and manipulating content and information, and changing the rules whenever it suits their bottom line. The recent explosion in AI development promises more of the same, with just a few tech giants controlling most of the data and computation resources it requires. Left unchecked, centralization of the internet will continue to constrain innovation and threaten our freedoms. Decentralized protocols AO and Arweave offer a better way.

ArConnect is now Wander

Wander is a wallet and browser that makes this new internet safe and easy to explore. We started out as ArConnect, the first wallet in Arweave’s permanent data ecosystem. Since early 2021, ArConnect has been the most trusted way to interact with Arweave, with more than 100,000 downloads and more than 500,000 transactions processed since inception. With the introduction of AO in early 2024, ArConnect became the best way to connect to dozens of newly possible applications, and the launch of mainnet in February 2025 marks another momentous step toward the realization of a new, user-first internet.

In recognition of the freedom and empowerment this new internet represents, we’ve rebranded ArConnect as Wander, with a new logo inspired by origami, paper boats, mountains and stars–symbols of creativity, self-reliance, discovery and exploration. Wander has a big vision for the future of the internet, one where you have the freedom to chart your own course.
